The 73rd Republic Day was celebrated in HEL with the pomp and grandeur that such an occasion demands. The HEL security team, resplendent in their uniforms carried out a march past which was inspected by HEL Plant Head & O&M Head. The parade was followed by the hoisting of the Tricolour by plant head Mr. Somnath Dutta.

Haldia Energy has installed 242 micro solar domes in the houses of the Scheduled Caste communities at Baneswarchak, Madhabpur,and Pathar- beria Village at Joynagar Gram Panchayat, Haldia, in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India and coordinated by the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharag- pur, and N.B. Institute of Rural Technology- Kolkata. The critical objective of the project is facilitating education among village children. Therefore, for this purpose, IIT has developed a single light gadget for reading purposes. The installation process of these lights is going on.

Under the auspices of the Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industries (BCCI), a webinar was conducted on 13th February 2021 on Ecological Sustainability.
Under the auspices of the Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industries (BCCI), a webinar was conducted on 13th February 2021 on Ecological Sustainability in the Haldia Industrial region. Representatives from Indian Oil Corporation, Haldia Energy Limited, Exide Industries, IIT-Kharagpur, Jadavpur University, and State Pollution Control Board were present as part of the discussion forum. Mr. Gautam Ray, ED-HR of CESC Generation Division, articulated his views and thoughts in the symposium.
HEL extended help to flood affected people .
After heavy rainfall in the wake of cyclone 'Yaas' along and unprecedented high tide in the river Hooghly leading to flood like situation, Haldia Energy Limited arranged temporary shelters & food for the displaced people.
The heavy rainfall in the wake of cyclone Yaas along with unprecedented high tide in the river Hooghly, caused the inundation of a large number of villages in Jikurkhali, Baneswarchak and Shalukhali areas of Haldia municipality in East Midnapore district. To alleviate the sufferings of the distressed villagers, Haldia Energy Limited arranged temporary shelters for the displaced people and food was provided to nearly 5000 villagers within a short notice. Additionally, dry food packets and clothing were distributed among the villagers. This noble initiative by Haldia Energy Limited was lauded by the local and district administration.
The employees of HEL launched an internal fund collection drive which received spontaneous response from all. This fund is being utilized to procure raw food materials which are then being cooked to provide meals to almost 900 villagers daily.
